Receptionist – Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator, this position provides front line customer service and clerical support in the School of Hospitality, Recreation & Tourism, duties may include but are not limited to the following: handles telephone and in person inquiries from students, faculty & staff, applicants and the general public; opens and distributes daily mail and organizes daily courier needs; organizes the mail room, the general office space and kitchen area daily to ensure a professional presentation to anyone walking into the offices; word processes correspondence and marketing materials; maintains lockers for office use; coordinates and prints business cards; and provides back up for other staff when needed.
The incumbent also records and posts notification of class cancellations; organizes, assists with the distribution and collection of SFQ & KPI packages, orders & maintains office supplies; maintains master HRT bulletin board; expedites deliveries to the test centre, HR and finance on behalf of the school; manages assignment/internship mailbox; assists with packaging of uniforms/name tags for students and ensures recycling bins are maintained. The position will troubleshoot fax/printer station issues and repairs; maintain the stocking of fax/printer stations throughout the school and ensure cleanliness of recycling bins, mailroom and printer stations.
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a one-year certificate or equivalent along with a minimum of 1 year of practical office and customer service experience. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of office procedures and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in a postsecondary institute or academic environment with knowledge of College policies, procedures, and organizational structure would be considered an asset.
Duration of need: until May 31, 2019
